DEEP BED
FILTRATION
The Roberts Deep Bed Filtration System is based
on a combination of established technology as well as the latest
developments in filter design. 6 foot media bed depths of
relatively large media allow for a high solids retention capacity
and great flexibility in filter operation. Extended filter run
times at high loading rates are the norm. |
|
Proven through over 100 years of experience, the Roberts’ system
features a simultaneous air and water wash of the filter media
which provides a very thorough cleaning of the media bed.
Roberts utilizes the latest technologies in
filter control, underdrain and air scour design to optimize deep
bed filter backwash and operation. A variety of options are
available to provide the right solution for any application.

DENITRIFICATION
Fixed Film Biological Process
Combining fixed film biological denitrification
with deep bed tertiary filtration.
The deep bed media configuration serves as both an
excellent means of removing suspended solids, and as a perfect
environment for denitrifying organisms.
The use of coarse monomedia optimizes the surface
area contact with the wastewater while still minimizing headloss
build-up. Dual and mixed media configurations are also available.
The Nitrogen gas which accumulates in the filter
bed is removed through time-tested methodologies. Conventional
air/water backwash is utilized to remove entrapped particles from the
filter bed. Backwash cycles are initiated on time and headloss.
Existing tertiary
filters can be converted to denitrification through the introduction of
a carbon source and the addition of the ARIES®
Managed Air Scour System
